Birmingham TV & Film Location Walking Tour (6 October 2012)

Posted on 3 October 2012

Mark Wilson spent three months of 2011 on the trail of BBC’s Hustle and their filming locations around the city of Birmingham. Seeing his home city used as a London substitute led Mark to research other shows and movies that had previously used city locations. This approximately 90 minute walking tour, that formed part of the 2012 Flatpack & Still Walking Festivals, covers tales of con artists, soap queens, game show kings and even a phantom flan flinger.

Mark has since joined up with Film Birmingham and expanded the tour and now attendees are able to step inside one of the most versatile and regularly used filming locations in the city for an exclusive view inside a wonderful historic city building.

A review of the March tour can be found on the MACE blog and the June tour is reviewed at Time Travelling Bunnies. Join Mark and Sindy Campbell (Film Birmingham) on a discovery of the city’s rich TV & Movie past, present & future covering 50 years of film-making in the city.

The tour route is approx 1.5 miles in length and will take around 90 minutes to walk with occasional steep inclines/descents. The final stop of the tour will be indoors where we will spend approx 30 minutes.

Meet at the tour start outside One Colmore Row, Snow Hill Station, Birmingham.

You can choose one of two start times, 11am or 2.30pm, just select your choice when booking.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult and the tour will run whatever the weather.

While the guided walk is around the pavements and streets of the city centre, there are a number of busy roads to negotiate. Whilst the guide will lead the tour along the route you are responsible for your own safety and security. Please be careful and act responsibly.

Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged except in the unlikely event the tour is cancelled by the organiser, in which case a refund will be given.
