FILM FRIENDLY
BIRMINGHAM WELCOMES NEW CHARTER
Birmingham City Council has signed a new Film Charter promising to further the city's fast growing reputation as an international centre for film and television production.
Following the launch of FILM
Birmingham in February the new Charter will ensure that
Birmingham can offer a coordinated and efficient approach to filming requests. For the first time, all requests will go through the FILM
Birmingham office - with nominated film liaison officers in each Council department ready to deal with the enquiry.
So, if you want to film in
Birmingham , all you need to do is to visit www.filmbirmingham.co.uk or email your request to film@filmbirmingham.co.uk.
Councillor Mike Whitby, Leader of
Birmingham City Council said “Our innovative Film Charter promises a new and efficient system for filming requests and a co-ordinated, film-friendly approach across the Council. Through FILM
Birmingham we will deliver a first rate, and competitive service for film and television production.”
Suzie Ralph, Director of FILM
Birmingham , said: It's fantastic that Birmingham City Council has responded so quickly following the launch of FILM
Birmingham by signing the Film Charter. This new film friendly policy, along with the funding and support offered by our regional screen agency, Screen West Midlands, and the soon to be launched on-line locations service, all mean that
Birmingham is fast becoming a very attractive option for national and international film production
FILM
