There are now loads of unique ways you can get your films broadcast... for free! You don't have to be a professional film-maker to qualify and sometimes they'll even throw in some kit and training. So if you've been trying to get your film on screen but didn't know how - or if you've never made a film but have always wanted to try - read on...

THE BIG SCREEN

If you've ever wanted your film shown to hundreds of thousands of people - here's your chance. The Big Screen in Chamberlain Square is the ideal showcase for Birmingham 's film makers. Standing outside of a traditional gallery or cinema context, the programme offers a platform for artists' film & video, short films, and community films and documentaries.

Last year it screened over 700 hours of film, in half hour repeated sequences showing several times a day in themed sequences.

It aims to be a resource for the community, a platform for film makers, and an attempt to seek out exciting and original moving image works that will capture the imaginations of what is an essentially fleeting, yet diverse audience.

THE CREATIVE CHANNEL NETWORK
The Creative Channel Network is an exciting new television channel launched in Birmingham , showcasing the best of the region's artistic talents.

The Channel is the brainchild of Birmingham based production company Definitely Red and is the only one of its kind in the UK .

It is transmitted through a number of publicly placed screens - the channel reaches an audience of over 100 000 a month. It can also be watched by an international audience through the Creative Channel website, which is now receiving over 40 000 hits per month.

BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL LIBRARY THEATRE

Creative Insight, which seeks to assit people working in the creative industries in Birmingham, provide Central Library Theatre as a regular alternative cinema venue, showcasing the work of local film-makers under the banner FILM FIRST.

It is free of charge for screenings and to audiences. Films are vetted by local film-makers for showing. Anyone wanting to submit ideas, material and suggestions should contact the Creative Insight Team on 0121 303 4538
