Dreamfollower Productions PLC launch of public share offering

Birmingham’s Rupak Mann, winner of Channel 4’s Bollywood Star TV competition, has today launched a public share fundraising. 

Dreamfollower Productions PLC (“Dreamfollower”), a Birmingham based film production company, is raising up to £1.6 million by way of a public share offer.  The money will be used to fund Dreamfollower’s first film “Swimmer”.  The script is complete and the film has been in pre-production with Pooja Bhatt’s Fish Eye Network company in Mumbai, India.  Dreamfollower intend to start filming later this year. 

Swimmer is an Asian crossover movie set in Mumbai with English dialogue.  Rupak will play the role of an overweight, ex-swimming athlete who must confront her guilt about the death of her mother in order to shed almost half her body weight, reclaim her health and fitness, restore her relationship with her father and become a champion again.

Dreamfollower has strong Midlands links.  It is advised by a Birmingham based advisory team. Once the film is complete, Dreamfollower intend to premiere Swimmer in the Midlands.

Rupak Mann commented:  “I was the unlikely winner of Bollywood Star but my winning should be an inspiration to anyone out there; follow your dreams and don’t give up. That is the theme of our first film, Swimmer.

“I acquired a lot of recognition through Bollywood Star and I wanted to give something back to those who supported me and also to a wider audience. That is why the fundraising has been aimed at the general public, to give everyone a chance, for a modest subscription, to feel part of the film industry.”
