The Gate Films has launched a competition to uncover the nation’s best, unsigned directing talent.

We have teamed up with a host of the top regional Advertising Agencies to offer any aspiring Director the chance to showcase their talent in front of leading industry figures.

Each entrant will receive a commercial script written by an agency team and then have two months in which to interpret and shoot it in their own individual style. A panel assembled from the various agency heads will then judge all the commercials made.

All levels of experience and background are encouraged to enter, whether their disciplines be Live-Action, Animation or Photography. Ultimately, each director will be judged on their creativity and ingenuity rather than the production budget or their CV’s.

The eventual winner will receive a huge step-up in the industry by acquiring a position on The Gate’s roster of commercials directors. Working with both National and International Advertising Agencies, The Gate Films have offices in Edinburgh, Manchester and London.

All entrants must be registered with the gate films by no later than November 10th. Shortly after this date we will invite everyone to join us for a full briefing.

The competition is only open to directors resident outside London and Scotland. Directors already signed to a production company are NOT allowed to enter.
