Dragon's Den Film Festival (DDFF)

We at dragonsdenuk.com are staging our first ever film festival. It will be an event dedicated to martial arts films from around the world. We will be showing a mixture of old school kung fu classics and the best modern independent action films. We will have 2 UK premieres and a special free screening which is yet to be announced.
 
The festival will take place at the AMC cinema in Birmingham on the 24th February 2007 and will commence at 13:15.  The programme for the day will break down as follows:

13.15 - 15.00 - Invincible Armour
15.15 - 17.00 - Kampfansage - Der letzte Schüler
17.15 - 18.45 - Mystery of Chess Boxing
18.45 - 19.45 - BREAK  
19.45 - 21.30 - Contour
21.45 - 23.30 - Drunken Master 2   
 
Invincible Armour (1977)    
Director-  Ng See Yuen  
Cast-  John Liu, Hwang Jang Lee, Phillip Ko, Yuen Biao, Corey Yuen Kwai
Description-  A classic kung fu film with an all star cast. It features 2 of the greatest kickers of  the genre and action choreography by MA legends Yuen Biao and Corey Yuen Kwai.

Mystery of Chess Boxing (1979)
Director-  Joseph Kuo
Cast-  Jack Long, Mark Long, Simon Yuen, Lee Yi Min
Description-  A legendary film featuring a legendary 'baddie' in the form of 'The Ghostface Killer'. This film ran for two years at grindhouse cinemas in New York during the seventies and inspired the rap group Wu-tang Clan.                        
***Presented at the DDFF in widescreen with it's original mandarin audio, a version which is currently unavailable on dvd.***
 

Kampfansage (2005)   ***The UK Premiere***
Director-  Johannes Jaeger
Cast-  Mathis Landwehr, Volkram Zschiesche, Christian Monz, Ron Matz
Description-  An independent action feature from Germany. It has production values far in excess of it's modest budget and a classic tale of revenge set in a dystopic future.      
 

Contour (2006)    ***The UK Premiere***
Director-  Eric Jacobus
Cast-  Eric Jacobus, Ed Kahana jr, Andy Leung, Dennis Ruel, Ray Carbonel, Tyler Wang
Description-  An independent action-comedy film from the U.S. with high impact fight scenes reminiscent of the work of Sammo Hung and Yuen Woo Ping.     
                            
 
Drunken Master 2 (1994) ***Free entry***
Director-  Lau Kar Leung
Cast- Jackie Chan, Lau Kar Leung, Anita Mui, Ti Lung, Ken Lo, Andy Lau
Description- Considered by many to be Jackie Chan's best work and the greatest kung fu film of all time. The teaming of Shaw Brothers legend Lau Kar Leung and Jackie Chan produces another great work based around the chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung and some of the greatest fight sequences ever filmed. A classic.
