Screen Rootz has been part of the national BFI scheme, “Blackworld” - a major initiative celebrating black creativity in film, television, and moving image.
As part of Blackworld, Screen Rootz produced 8 digital short films from aspiring and emerging black and Asian writers and directors from Coventry and Warwickshire, with professional mentoring throughout the process.
From pre-production to shooting to post-production, support was a key element of this scheme, with freelance professionals and Coventry based Frontline AV production staff working closely with each of the filmmakers throughout.
Finally, after much hard work and commitment, the 8 films are completed - including drama, music promo, documentary and animation, the Screen Rootz Films are an eclectic mix of imagination, learning and creativity.
This unique scheme proudly present its final films at Warwick Arts Centre on 11th November 2006, between 2pm and 3.30pm. Whilst all are welcome it is advisable to book places as numbers are limited, so please contact Rupinder Virdee on 02476 224 221 or on email rupinder@frontlineav.com.
Screen Rootz has been funded by Screen West Midlands and ABi London.
