SCREEN SOUTH AND SKILLSET’S CINE EURO PROJECT-LED CO-PRODUCTION TRAINING


Cine-Euro is a 9 month co-production project-led Training Programme starting in June 2008 and finishing in February 2009. The programme will assist 8 UK Producers to develop, market, finance and enable European Partnership for European Co-Productions.

Producers will apply with developed screenplays which have real market potential as co-productions. The programme will provide networking opportunities through the Cine-Regio Network to introduce like-minded and experienced producers to form European partnerships on feature films ready for co-production. Up-to-date sales and marketing intelligence will be provided by Film Export UK to give Producers the best awareness and skills to forge partnerships and complete finance.

The key aim is to enable 8 producers to make their feature films with European co-production finance. The cost of the programme will include paid travel and accommodation to attend The Edinburgh International Film Festival (June 2008), Sarajevo International Film Festival/CineLink (August) and Berlin International Film Festival (February 2009), instructed by The Cine-Regio Network.

Cine Euro will comprise of a comprehensive training programme consisting of 12 training, festival and networking events over the following 9 months, to include three one to one surgeries throughout the programme with award winning Producer Pippa Cross (Shooting Dogs, My Left Foot), who will give both development and business co-production support and advice, specific to the Producers’ needs. Each Producer will be given a mentor at the mid-point of the programme with an experienced co-production producer and e-mentoring will take place for the remainder of the programme.
