RADAR FESTIVAL

THE RADAR FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES OPENS 18TH JUNE with even more tracks and even more prizes!

June 18th sees the launch of the second Radar Festival, the competition for aspiring music video directors. This unique international competition offers aspiring directors world wide the opportunity to start their career in the music video industry. The Radar Festival competition is open to everyone, any age or background who hasn’t been paid as a music video director.

There’s over 25 prizes of commissions and £1k cash. Filmmakers are invited to choose from a selection of 17 artists to make their promo;
*Maximo Park, Rumblestrips, Richard Hawley or Kylie Minogue
*Machine, Ulrich Schnauss, Cinematic Orchestra or Recoil
*Maps, Public Symphony, Sondre Lerche or Soulsavers with Mark Lanegan
*Siobhan Donaghy, Flying Lotus, The Heavy, Just Jack or The Good The Bad and The Queen

Over the course of the competition (June – October 2007), every director across the world who wants to get started in the music video industry is invited to take part. Promos will be judged by record label commissioners and production companies, and all shortlisted promos will be screened online. Finalists win record label commissions or cash, winners secure mentoring with world class promo production companies, like Black Dog and Draw Pictures.

Radar is particularly pleased to be media partnering with Dazed and Confused, Channel 4 Talent and the BBC. Dazed and Confused are hosting our online voting of label winners in December; Channel 4 talent are creating additional content with us and the BBC Film Network will also host our winners after the awards. Other media partners, including Antville, are listed on the website.
