Getting in the Picture is a day of events aimed at helping people from minority ethnic groups to establish a career in the film industry. Speakers include careers experts and film professionals who are experts and working in a variety of roles across the sector.

Panel discussion: Getting In Professionals from minority ethnic groups describe how they got into the film industry, and their experiences of working in the sector. Chaired by writer, broadcaster and documentary filmmaker Sarfraz Manzoor.

Panel discussion: Compass Point - Make Your Move Compass Point is a National Film & Television School professional development project. Run in association with B3 Media it is enabling sixteen black and ethnic minority creatives and entrepeneurs to fast track their careers. Participants will discuss their recent achievements and short extracts of current work will be screened.

Option 1 :
B3 presents Blank Slate: Bringing fresh, new stories to the big screen. Blank Slate, produced by B3 Media, is a unique, award-winning, UK-wide digital short film scheme supporting the next generation of black and minority ethnic talent. Marc Boothe and Erinma Ochu, Executive Producers of Blank Slate, along with filmmakers from the scheme, will screen some of the work and discuss the ideas behind this successful initiative.

Option 2
Skillset Workshop: CVs & Self Marketing (limited to 30 delegates: early booking recommended) This workshop is all about marketing yourself. By the end of the session, you will be able to:
• Understand the importance of marketing yourself.
• Know how to network effectively.
• Create a really good CV.
• Know WHO you’re aiming your CV at.
• Make your skills and experience work for you.
• Know how to follow up on your CV.
