FREE SCRIPT CONSULTANCY SESSIONS

from the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs

The Forum is proud to announce that next month marks the launch of our EAVE West Midlands programme of seminars. EAVE, the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, is one of the leading training and development providers for producers in Europe.

Over the last decade and more EAVE has developed a combination of producer training, project development and network creation which has become a model for producer training throughout the continent.

As part of this year’s EAVE WM programme, the Forum has been working to secure a unique opportunity for producers, directors and writers from the region to work with a script consultant supplied by EAVE to develop a project over the course of the scheme.

The Forum has allocated funding for 8 companies to have the opportunity for their feature scripts to be read and assessed by Clare Downs. Once Clare has read the individual scripts, the Forum will arrange a one to one meeting with her and the producer (and director/writer teams if applicable) to offer advice on developing and enhancing the script. The producer will then have the opportunity to work on developing the script with the writer/director team over a three month period, before resubmitting the project to Clare. There will then be a further one to one meeting where the work on the script will be reassessed and further advice offered. The first consultancy sessions will be held in Birmingham during the week starting 12th November.  The script consultancy sessions are open to businesses with a Birmingham postcode.

In order to apply for the course, you must submit the following documentation via email:

- A synopsis of the project
- Details of any finance raised so far
- Evidence of previous development with the project
- Details of cast/core crew attached
- The project script (minimum 1st draft)
- Please also submit any other information that you feel would enhance your application.

Please note that scripts supplied to the project must be at first draft stage or they will not be considered for assessment. You must also demonstrate a willingness to develop the project between consultancy sessions to gain the maximum benefit from the programme. You must also undertake a business consultancy session if your script is selected  - once again this will be free of charge.

The deadline for applications is FRIDAY 12th OCTOBER at 12 p.m.
Please also make note of our first two EAVE WM sessions:

Friday 2nd November: Project Development (09.30 - 17.00 @ BAYC Centre, Birmingham)

Saturday 3rd November: Digital Distribution (09.30 - 17.00 @ BAYC Centre, Birmingham)
