Join us for Deaffest 2007, a dynamic and thriving festival which celebrates and showcases the talents of Deaf media artists and film makers, nurtures new talent and brings together members of the Deaf and hearing film making communities from across the UK and overseas.
The weekend of festivities will include:
- Screenings of premiere films produced by Deaf filmmakers from around the world.
- Young Deaffest, showcasing work produced in the first phase of the Mediabox film production and animation project. The audience will have the chance to vote for the best film with the winner going on to receive a Film Bursary grant.
- Panel Discussions looking at funding and opportunities for Deaf filmmakers.
- Film Awards Gala with Guests of Honour from the media industry announcing the winners of the Deaffest 2007 Film Awards, plus comedy from John Smith.
- A special pre-release subtitled screening of Enchanted, Disney’s latest fun-filled adventure, courtesy of Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures UK.
Plus discussion, performances, stalls and plenty of opportunities to party!
