NADINE GETS EUROPEAN PREMIERE
A British independent feature film, NADINE, which was filmed by Birmingham Director of Photography & cameraman Steve Downer last autumn, has a European premiere next week.
The film is one of 11 chosen to screen at the Cinema l’Odyssee in Strasbourg, France, for the Cinema Britannique season between June 27th and July 17th. The other British films showing during the festival are The Queen, The Wind That Shakes The Barley, Notes On A Scandal, An Ideal Husband, My Beautiful Launderette, Cashback, Red Road, United 93, Isolation, & Keeping Mum .
A departure from Steve’s usual work filming for wildlife programmes such as PLANET EARTH, COAST, THE BLUE PLANET and SPRINGWATCH, NADINE is the gritty story of the final day in the life of an abused teenage girl and was shot entirely on location in Roehampton, south London.
In November last year, Steve was listed as one of BROADCAST magazine’s HOT 100 talents of 2006.
